W rozmowie, którą poprowadzi Grzegorz Jankowicz, wezmą udział:
- Pavla Horákova (czeska pisarka i publicystka)
- Viktor Horváth (węgierski prozaik i nauczyciel akademicki)
- Weronika Gogola (laureatka Nagrody Conrada, mieszkająca na stałe w Słowacji)
- Silvester Lavrík (słowacki pisarz i reżyser teatralny).
Wszyscy oni zajmują się nie tylko tworzeniem opowieści, ale również przekładem, który umożliwia im nieustanny dialog z innymi literaturami.
Czwórkę pisarek i pisarzy łączy i to, że publikują na łamach węgierskiego The Continental Literary Magazine, anglojęzycznego czasopisma, które promuje kulturę Europy Środkowej w krajach zachodnich.
W spotkaniu weźmie udział także redaktorka magazynu Margit Garajszki.

Wydarzenie odbywa się w ramach cyklu CONRAD PO GODZINACH. Organizatorami są Miasto Kraków PL, KBF, Fundacja Tygodnika Powszechnego oraz The Continental Literary Magazine.

Want to learn the most important issues facing authors from Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia and Poland? We have joined forces with the Continental Literary Magazine to prepare a discussion on literature in Central Europe! Join us at 6pm on Thursday 24 November at the Potocki Palace on the Rynek Główny.
The panel, hosted by Grzegorz Jankowicz, incudes:
- Pavla Horákova (Czech author and columnist)
- Viktor Horváth (Hungarian prosaist and academic lecturer)
- Weronika Gogola (Polish winner of the Conrad Prize, resident in Slovakia)
- Silvester Lavrík (Slovakian author and theatre director).
As well as writing their own stories, they all work as translators, allowing them to maintain a constant dialogue with other literatures.
The four authors all write for the Continental Literary Magazine – an English-language magazine published in Hungary and promoting Central European culture in the West. The meeting will also be attended by the magazine’s editor Margit Garajszki.

The event is held as part of the cycle CONRAD AFTER HOURS. It is organised by the City of Kraków, KBF, the Tygodnik Powszechny Foundation and the Continental Literary Magazine.
